NIKKA DELLOSA (She/Her)

MFT GRADUATE STUDENT INTERN

Nikka is currently a student at Seattle Pacific University pursuing her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and certification in Medical Family Therapy.

Nikka’s approach to counseling is primarily person-centered. She believes that her clients are the experts of their lives, and her role is to support them and help them to develop a stronger sense of self and greater ability to instigate the changes that they want to see in their lives. Because each client is unique, she draws from a variety of trauma-informed therapeutic approaches such as a biopsychosocial-spiritual-sexual approach, emotionally-focused therapy, and narrative therapy. She also enjoys incorporating creativity and mindfulness-based strategies when appropriate. Nikka works to create a culturally sensitive and nonjudgmental atmosphere so that her clients feel safe to share what they feel is necessary to reach their personal goals. She is interested in working with BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, couples, and families, as well as topics related to grief and loss, life transitions, multicultural challenges, relationships, body image, trauma, identity exploration, and personal growth.

Nikka is a first-generation Filipino-American and is queer-identifying. Before becoming a therapist, Nikka was a classically trained musician (French horn) and has performed internationally. In her free time, Nikka enjoys spending time with her loved ones, spoiling her two cats, reading and writing poetry, playing music, and going on long walks.
